COVID-19 Policies and Procedures

1. Spacing & Attendance Control

a) We are implementing a 6 ft. distance policy. Each student will have four puzzle

mats for themselves. A student standing in the center of their box will be 10 ft

away from their neighbours and 12 ft. away from the other row.

 

b) Port Moody Taekwondo is fortunate to have one of the largest, unobstructed

training floors in British Columbia. With that said, we will be reducing our max

class capacity significantly, with no classes being over 10 students, some even being

smaller.

 

c) In between each class, there will be a 15-minute gap. This 15-minute break will

limit our capacity and allow time for the instructors to sanitize the training area.

 

2. Safety Procedures:

a) Students and staff entering our facility will be asked: “Do you have any of the

following symptoms: fever, chills, cough, shortness of breath, sore throat and

painful swallowing, stuffy or runny nose, loss of sense of smell, headache,

muscle aches, fatigue or loss of appetite.” “Are you, or anyone you are living

with, either sick, self-isolating, or quarantined?”

 

b) Students must come in dressed in their full uniforms. Change rooms will be

c) Please come with a full water bottle. The water dispenser will not be in use due to

COVID-19 guidelines.

 

d) Students are encouraged to wear taekwondo shoes. Contact us if you do not

have a pair and would like to place an order.

 

e) Parents will drop off & pick up children at the entrance. An instructor will be

available at the door to help students get in and out of class.

 

f) The viewing area will be closed.

g) There will be no self-check-in.

h) Any future paperwork will be done through online forms.

 

3. Sanitation & Disinfection

a) We will disinfect all surfaces before every class.

b) Students are encouraged to sanitize their hands before and after class.

c) Washrooms will be disinfected between each use.

d) Mats will be cleaned after every class

 

4. Staff Precautions & Safety.

a) All staff members will be required to wear masks during classes.

b) Our staff areas & back rooms will be closed.

c) All staff will remain 2 meters apart from students and each other at all times.

 

5. Adjusted Curriculum

Each class will have a set curriculum that will allow us to teach an on-the-spot lesson

and not have to break up into smaller groups.
